Founder

Skazalka was founded by Elena Filipovska-Bozinovska, who started her career as an educator and researcher in 2001. Elena uses a unique methodology for teaching Macedonian language and culture to foreign professionals and members of their families. She taught Macedonian afoto_KNnd Italian at high schools, at the state university and at language schools.

Elena’s experience also includes serving as a president of the state commission on teaching Italian and leading an American Councils of Washington-funded project on improving the teaching methodology of state universities. In addition, she designed and implemented a pilot project for teaching language to orphans and worked on social inclusion of deported Roma children. Elena has worked with Dante Alighieri as education consultant and oversees PLIDA certification in Macedonia.

Elena has a master’s degree in Intercultural Competence and two bachelor’s degrees – one in linguistics and another in history and civilization. As a visiting scholar, Elena conducted research in the University of California, Berkeley. She has published and spoken on language teaching and cultural adaptation.
